DATA IS ART
LSE Cities
LSE Cities and its key patron, Alfred Herrhausen Gesellschaft, wanted to hold an exhibition in Berlin's unique Box Frieraum.
Capacious ex-stables, the Frieraum has preserved the varied wall, floor and ceiling finishes. Normally it hosts art exhibitions, it's a place that invites an innovative response, not the usual white-walled box of a modern gallery.
We arranged the data and its interpretation onto tall panels, printed onto cloth and stretched frames, like canvases. These leaned very simply against the Frieraum's richly variegated walls.
